Caitlin Ryan is an Assistant Professor at the Centre for International Relations at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. Her work focuses on the gendered political and economic dynamics of postwar recovery, and draws from feminist and postcolonial security studies. In recent years she has focused on the politics of land deals for agribusiness in northern Sierra Leone. Her current project, made possible with funding from Folke Bernadotte Academy, examines the implementation of land reform in Liberia and Sierra Leone, and what this means for women’s participation in decision-making around land issues and their land rights. She has published recent articles in the Journal of Intervention and Statebuilding, International Political Sociology and the European Journal of International Relations and has a chapter in the forthcoming textbook on International Relations in the Anthropocene (Palgrave)
