We are currently facing issues of illicit trade and a rise in criminality in the Netherlands. The Public Prosecution service reports of growing attacks on the police and emergency services, the unraveling of the underground drug cartels of criminal Ridouan Taghi, and the rising rates of shooting and bombings in the country have demanded we ask some important questions. Questions such as: What is happening to safety in the Netherlands? Are there other forms of organised crime in the Netherlands? How can we effectively fight organised crime and what role does collective leadership (society & police) play in this? To answer these questions and more, we invite the former chief investigator and safety specialist Sander Schaepman.

Sander Schaepman

Sander is known for his role as head of detectives in the popular TV program Hunted, in which participants try to evade capture. In addition, Sander has an impressive career as a leader and trainer in the police force. He has been working in leadership positions, especially non-profit, for 35 years, from operations to strategic level, as well as leading internationally operating Core Teams on Serious Organized Crime in the Dutch police. He has worked with various international law enforcement agencies including those in Western Europe, Lebanon, Turkey, and Colombia. Through his experience, he has developed strong political and administrative sensitivity and is highly skilled in crisis leadership. He now uses his sensitivity and passion for ethics and knowledge in the field of security for his roles as a board and executive advisor, leader of crisis organizations, and keynote speaker on security, leadership, and integrity.
